Cardhu 12 Year is a single-malt Speyside that, right off the bat, reminds you of a breakfast buffet, stacks of sweet flapjacks dripping with butter and honey. Soft and sweet, the nose features notes of golden honey, apple peels and juicy pears. The palate stays sweet, but here is where the peat appears, with a nice dose of smokiness before a quick, clean finish. A perfect sipper.
